Zionist war minister Benny Gantz has confirmed a crisis with Egypt over a recent military offensive by the occupying regime in the Gaza Strip.
“We have constant contact with Egypt, and in the last two years, there have been ups and downs,” Gantz said in statements.
“In the last few days, there has been a slight down, but we’re sorting it out,” he added.
Tension arose between the two sides after the occupying regime refused to rein in its raids in the occupied West Bank.
According to regime’s media, Cairo was angry at the regime’s handling of the Gaza offensive and the assassination of Palestinian activist Ibrahim al-Nabulsi one day following the Gaza cease-fire.
Al-Nabulsi was killed along two other Palestinians in a raid by the Zionist regime in Nablus city one day after Egypt managed to broker a cease-fire to end a 3-day offensive on Gaza.
At least 49 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured in the onslaught.
According to public broadcaster KAN, Ronen Bar, head of the occupying regime’s general security service, flew to Egypt to discuss the crisis with the head of Egypt’s intelligence service, Abbas Kamel.
There was no comment from Egyptian authorities on the report.
Palestinian news website Safa reported, citing the Zionist regime’s Army Radio, also reported Egyptian-Zionist relations have witnessed tensions in recent months.
The report said tensions rose nearly two months ago when Zionist fighter jets intercepted an unarmed Egyptian drone that had crossed the Egyptian border with the regime by mistake.
Cairo also expressed its discontent after the emergence of Israeli media reports suggesting the existence of an unmarked mass grave near Al-Quds containing the remains of Egyptian soldiers who died in the 1967 War. The radio station added that the regime is seeking to search for the Egyptian soldiers’ burial site and return their remains to Cairo.
It noted that Zionist prime minister Yair Lapid contacted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in an effort to ease tension, promising to do everything necessary to find the mass grave.
