Iranians Missing in Armenia Turn Up in Georgia
TEHRAN – Six Iranian nationals purported to have gone missing after a recent blast at a shopping mall in Armenia’s capital have been found safe and sound in Georgia, the embassy of Iran in Yerevan said.
It said the six Iranian citizens are fortunately alive and healthy and are currently in Georgia.
The travelers, who were thought to have died after the powerful blast that tore through the Surmalu market in Yerevan on Sunday, did not have access to the Internet as they were heading towards Georgia.
The six passengers could not get in contact with their families in Iran any sooner than Monday night, and had not informed their relatives of the exact time of their departure for Georgia either.
At least six people have been killed, more than 60 others injured, and nearly 20 people remain missing in the fireworks storage explosion at the popular market in Yerevan.
