Russia: Terrorists in Idlib Produce Fake Videos of Airstrikes on Civilians

DAMASCUS (TASS) – The West-supported terrorists and White Helmets are preparing to produce staged videos in Idlib to accuse Syria and Russia of launching missile strikes on civilians, according to Russian Defense Ministry’s Center for Reconciliation in Syria.
“According to reports received by the Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties, militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group jointly with the pseudo-humanitarian organization White Helmets are filming fake videos in the settlement of Qitan in the Idlib governorate to later accuse Russia’s aerospace forces and Syrian government troops of delivering strikes at civilians and civil infrastructure,” Oleg Yegorov, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, which is a division of the Russian defense ministry, said on Sunday.
The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria. The center’s officers regularly travel around the country’s liberated areas to assess the humanitarian situation. The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes and evacuation of civilians from de-escalation zones.
In mid-July, the ‘Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’ (HTS), formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra (the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda), ‘Ansar al-Tawhid’, and the so-called ‘National Army’ factions announced they targeted Syrian army positions in the al-Ghab Plain, northwest of Hama, south of Idlib, and north of Latakia, in response to what they described as the Russian bombing of the western countryside of Idlib, which led to a number of civilian deaths and injuries.
In May, the Russian Federal Security Service reported that 10 individuals were arrested in nine Russian districts for conspiring with members of the “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham” to set up a vast network to collect funds for militants in Idlib.
