Iranian Film Crowned Best in Malaysia
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian film ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ has been awarded at the Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA).
‘Drowning in Holy Water’ was named the Best Film in the Malaysian event.
The film, written and directed by Navid Mahmoudi, is about a group of Afghans living in Tehran who are trying to reach Europe.
The movie’s cast members include Ali Shademan, Neda Jebraeili, Matin Heydarnia, and Sadaf Asgari.
The Malaysia Golden Global Awards is “an awards ceremony that exists to acknowledge and honor the efforts and sacrifices made by filmmakers and actors in improving their craft, in delivering stunning performances, and in providing superb films. It also exists to appreciate and thank those who has contributed to the film world”, according to asianfilmfestivals.com.
The Malaysia Golden Global Awards took place on July 16.
