Iran: Lying Common Practice of U.S. Leaders
TEHRAN – Iran on Thursday hit out at the U.S. for spreading lies about what it calls Tehran’s support for the Russian war in Ukraine.
“Lying is a common practice among the U.S. statesmen for turning the reality upside down for evil purposes,” Nasser Kanaani wrote in a post on his Twitter account.
U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Monday Washington had received “information” indicating that Iran was preparing to provide Russia with “up to several hundred UAVs, including weapons-capable UAVs on an expedited timeline.”
Kanaani said cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of some modern technologies has nothing to do with Ukraine, adding it goes back to before the commencement of the war.
In a Wednesday interview with Italian newspaper la Repubblica, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian expressed Iran’s opposition to the war between Russia and Ukraine, vowing to continue efforts to help bring about a ceasefire during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s planned visit to Tehran.
“Since the beginning of the conflict, we clearly announced our position, and by that, I mean we are against Russia’s military action in Ukraine,” Amir-Abdollahian said.
Kanaani also excoriated the U.S. for maintaining “unconditional” support for the occupying regime of Israel as the “most murderous” regime in the world.
He said Biden’s visit to the occupied Palestinian territories aimed to “reinforce America’s commitment to unconditional support for the world’s most murderous child-killing regime”.
