IME Weekly Trade Tops $600mn, Grows 7%

TEHRAN – The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Monday reported that over 2,466,612 tonnes of commodities with total value of $604 million were traded in its domestic and exporting halls, logging growths of 7% in volume of tradings compared with the last week.
The IME’s report said that over 2,235,000 tonnes of metal and mineral commodities, including 1,186,000 tonnes of cement, 443,619 tonnes of steel, 520,000 tonnes of iron ore, 73,000 tonnes of sponge iron, 1,105 tonnes of zinc, 8,300 tonnes of aluminum, 5,000 tonnes of copper, 190 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tonnes of precious metals concentrate and 24 kg of gold bars with total value of $423 million were traded in its trading halls.
IME also said, on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor, over 225,317 tonnes of commodities, including 84,665 tonnes of polymeric products, 7,150 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 29,000 tonnes of lube cut, 40,907 tonnes of chemicals, 1,295 tonnes of sulfur, 3,609 tonnes of base oil, 59,195 tonnes of bitumen and 330 tonnes of insulation with total value of $178 million were traded in the IME’s halls.
On the IME’s side market, over 5,752 tonnes of commodities exchange traded in the last week.
