Thousands of Outraged Mourners Bury Hamas Fighters

JENIN (Dispatches) – Amid sadness and anger, thousands of mourners have buried three Palestinian young men martyred by Zionist troops in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
Family members, friends, activists, and militants joined the funeral of the three, who were members of Hamas’ armed wing al-Qassam Brigades.
The mourners waved Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against the Zionist regime. Several gunmen shot in the air in an expression of anger, while masked men threatened to act in retaliation for the killing of the three activists.
Hamas resistance movement mourned the death of the three young men in a press statement, saying “the cowardly assassination will not go unpunished.”
“The Palestinian people and their armed resistance know how to respond to the heinous crime,” the statement said, calling on the city of Jenin “to stand at the forefront of the Palestinian revolution against the (Zionist) occupation and injustice.”
According to an organization representing families of Palestinians killed by the Zionist regime, the regime forces have killed 70 Palestinians in the occupied territories since the beginning of the year. The organization says 13 children younger than 18 and five women are among those killed by the regime this year.
Meanwhile, at least 78 people were injured after Zionist troops attacked protest rallies against the regime’s settler-colonial activities in the northern part of the occupied West Bank on Friday.
The protests, which have become a weekly affair, erupted in and around the West Bank city of Nablus after Friday prayers, with regime forces using indiscriminate force to quell them.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society, a humanitarian organization working under the aegis of the International Red Cross, said at least 78 protesters were injured, including international solidarity activists.
Reports said protests took place in the villages of Beit Dajan, Qaryut, and Kafr Qaddum, and the neighboring governorate of Qalqilia.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, Palestinians marched through the villages in support of their cause of liberation from the Israeli occupation and aggression.
