Defense Minister: Iran to Modernize Naval Fleet
TEHRAN -- The defense minister of Iran on Friday unveiled plans to update and modernize the country’s naval fleet in proportion to the regional threats.
Brigadier General Muhammad Reza Ashtiani paid a visit to the coastal province of Hormozgan in southern Iran to observe the process of manufacturing the latest homegrown destroyers, military vessels and submarines. “The Defense Ministry will modernize the naval fleet of the armed forces according to the needs of the armed forces and the regional threats across all territorial waters.”
