Razavi Theater Festival Underway in East Azarbaijan
TEHRAN (Honaronline)--The 15th Razavi Theater Festival opened inTabriz on Monday.
Twelve theatrical groups are competing in the 15th Razavi Theater Festival which opened in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, East Azarbaijan Province, on Monday and will end on June 9, said the secretary of the festival.
Seyyed Qassem Seyyed-Nazemi added that 32 theatrical groups submitted their works to the secretariat of the festival, he said.
Nasrollah Qaderi, Farhad Qaemian, Yaqub Seddig-Jamali, Abbas Abbaszadeh, and Saeid Rezanejad were among the Selection Committee members.
Seyyed-Nazemi said that, on the one hand, Tabriz is the first Shia capital city in which Shia was declared as the official religion of the country during the Safavid Period, and, on the other, it is the cradle of theatrical arts in the country.
The event seeks to introduce the thoughts and teachings of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims, in the form of performance, promote religious activities and religious concepts in the society, he noted.
