Iran’s Muaythai Athlete Claims Gold Medal in UAE’s World Championship

Abdolmaleki has won a gold medal at IFMA Muaythai World Championship 2022 on the last day of the international sports event in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.
With the latest gold medal, the Iranian team gained 18 colorful medals at the competition that brought together under 23 and elite divisions from across the world from May 26 until June 4.
Abdolmaleki defeated his Thai rival 29-28 in Men’s minus 63.5kg competition after three rounds.
The Iranian athlete had defeated his competitors from Turkmenistan, Australia, the US and Sweden to qualify for the final match.
But, another Iranian participant, Yaser Pormehr, lost to his Kazakh competitor in Men’s minus 54kg competition, following his prior victories against Iraqi and Turkish rivals.
And also in Women’s plus 75kg, Iran’s Samira Fathi lost to her Croatian competitor and gained a silver medal.
Iran got a total of two gold medals at the UAE Muaythai World Championship 2022.
The first gold medal was won by Fatemeh Husseini in Women’s minus 60kg on Friday.
With its 18 colorful medals, Iran came the tenth at the UAE Muaythai World Championship 2022, leaving behind France, Egypt, and the U.S.
Thailand, with 8 gold medals as well as 5 silver and 2 bronze medals, came the first.
