Palestinian Martyred in Hospital After Zionist Raid
WES TBANK (Dispatches) – A senior Palestinian figure in Jenin was martyred on Sunday morning in a hospital after succumbing to wounds he sustained during a raid by Zionist troops in the northern occupied West Bank city two days earlier.
Daoud al-Zubaidi was hit in the stomach as an hours-long stand-off unfolded between Zionist troops and Palestinian fighters during the raid.
Zubaidi was taken first to a hospital in Jenin but was then transferred to Rambam Hospital in Haifa inside the occupied territories due to the severity of his condition. The hospital confirmed his death in a statement on Sunday morning.
After the family agreed that the 43-year-old be transferred to the hospital, the occupying regime’s army announced that he was under arrest. Upon his martyrdom, the army withheld his body.
The martyred Palestinian is the brother of Zakaria Zubeidi, a former commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade in Jenin who escaped from the regime’s high security Gilboa prison in September last year, along with five Islamic Jihad members. The six were recaptured a few days later.
The occupying regime has stepped up its deadly aggression across Palestinian territories since the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, causing Palestinians to ramp up their resistance operations in response.
Zionist prime minister Naftali Bennett has already given regime troops a free hand to “defeat” what he called “terror” in the West Bank.
The military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has warned the Zionist regime against any act of aggression against the Gaza Strip, saying death awaits the regime if it dares invade Gaza.
In a video published on its website on Friday, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades warned the occupying regime against any ground invasion of the Gaza Strip while showing off its military preparedness.
“Your destiny is death if you step into Gaza,” Al-Qassam said. “Any ground attack on Gaza gives us the opportunity to kill more enemies and take them as captives.”
Furthermore, Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanoa praised the strong will of Jenin’s resistance fighters over their ongoing fight against Zionist occupation forces amid their atrocities against the residents.
“Jenin is still fighting and bravely resisting the occupation,” al-Qanoa said. “It will never be broken and will be victorious.”
He stressed that a comprehensive intifada (uprising) against the occupying regime is inevitable to stop its aggression.
Khaled Meshaal, the head of Hamas’ political bureau abroad, also lauded the Palestinian resistance in the occupied West Bank, particularly in the Jenin refugee camp, which he called “a habitat of heroism and resistance.”
Meshaal called for greater Palestinian unity to put an end to the Zionist occupation of Palestine, saying “our people are capable of defeating the occupation and purifying our land.”
“The only solution is through resistance, mobilizing the Palestinian people based on this program, and placing the occupation in an isolated and pariah situation to force it to leave,” he added.
