Envoy: Serbia, Iran Have Many Common Words

Ambassador to Tehran Dragan Todorović on Thusday referred to similarities between Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) and International Belgrade Book Fair and stressed the need for improving cultural exchanges between the two countries .
Attending the 33rd Tehran International Book Fair, Todorović said the people of Serbia are not strange to Iranian people and culture and the two nations have many words in common.
“People and officials of both countries have a positive view toward each other and the Serbian people interestedly follow the news about the Iranian people and culture,” he said.
“On this basis, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Iran and Serbia to offer free stands in the two international book fairs of each other and display their books for the interested visitors,” he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the ambassador said both Tehran International Book Fair and International Belgrade Book Fair pave the ground for better cultural interaction between the two countries.
Serbia was the guest of honor at the 31st Tehran International Book Fair held in 2018.
In 2017, on the sidelines of the 62nd Belgrade International Book Fair, Iran and Geopoetika International Publishing House of Serbia signed a and memorandum of understanding for corporations in print industry.
The motto of the current Tehran International Book Fair that is underway until March 21 at Imam Khomeini prayer grounds (Mosalla) is: “With Book, We Stay Safe”. Qatar with a group of publishers is the guest of honor of the event.
