IME Weekly Trade Exceeds $667 Million

TEHRAN – The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Saturday reported that Within over 1,805,449 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of more than $667 million were traded in domestic and exporting halls, posting growths of 5% in volume and 21% in value of trades compared to the figures of the previous week.
The report said that over 1,296,000 tonnes of metal and mineral commodities including 1,040,026 tonnes of cement, 367,633 tonnes of steel, 53,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 8,450 tonnes of aluminum, 6,000 tonnes of iron ore, 5,000 tonnes of copper, 194 tonnes of zinc, 150 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 40 tonnes of lead and 13 kg of gold bars with total value of $401 million were traded in IME’s trading halls in the last week.
It also added that over 319,092 tonnes of oil and petrochemical commodities including 80,285 tonnes of bitumen, 79,318 tonnes of polymeric products, 60,000 tonnes of lube cut, 43,900 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 40,625 tonnes of chemicals, 10,880 tonnes of sulfur, 4,041 tonnes of base oil, 100 tonnes of insulation and 50 tonnes of argon with total value of $250 million were traded in its trading halls.
Furthermore, the IME saw on both domestic and export pits of its oil and petrochemical trading floor worth almost USD.
The exchange customers purchased on this floor.
On its agricultural trading floor the exchange saw offering of 5 tonnes of saffron.
Last but not least was the IME’s side market with 5,778 tonnes of commodities traded on it.
