Official: Iran’s Exports to South Africa Rise 500%

TEHRAN - Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Alireza Peymanpak has announced that the country’s exports of non-oil products to South Africa were considerably increased during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2022).
“Iran’s non-oil exports registered a 500-percent growth during last Iranian year (March 21, 2021-March 20, 2022) registered a 500-percent,” Peymanpak said.
He reiterated that Iran’s exports to South Africa last year showed a considerable growth as compared to its previous year’s corresponding period.
Peymanpak put the value of Iran’s export of products to South Africa at $48 billion for last year while the country imported $53 billion worth of products from South Africa.
Accordingly, Iran’s trade with foreign countries exceeded $100 billion in this period, he added.
Turning to the country’s foreign trade growth last year, the TPOI chief added that the country registered considerable growth in the field of export of petrochemicals, food products, etc.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Iran’s export of products to Sultanate of Oman, Turkey and Indonesia recorded a 65, 140 and 70 percent hike, respectively last year.
