Russia, Iran Ink MoU to Broaden Cooperation on Exhibition Industry
TEHRAN - Iran’s International Exhibitions Company and the Russian Expo Center have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the exhibition industry field.
The MoU was signed by Head of Iran International Exhibitions Company Hooman Razdar and Director General of Expocentre Alexey Vyalkin.
Signing the MoU will help the two countries introduce their economic capacities.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Vyalkin said after signing the agreement that Iranian companies would have more active participation in the Russian Expo Center.
The two sides, meantime, reached a good agreement on a joint venture and presenting knowledge-based products.
Razdar also termed the MoU as the first and the most important one between the two sides.
He referred to exchange of exhibition sites and integrated cooperation as the most important articles of the MoU.
Last Thursday, Iranian and Russian officials and businesspersons held a meeting in Moscow to discuss ways to further expand trade and economic relations between the two neighbors.
Iran-Russia Trade Conference kicked off at the venue of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow with the participation of representatives of more than 350 Iranian and Russian companies.
Iranian Ambassador to the Russia Kazzem Jalali, Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Alireza Peyman-Pak and President of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin delivered lectures at the conference on the potentials of economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Russia, specially in the current situation.
Representatives of 70 Iranian and 300 Russian companies in 9 different sectors, including industry, technology, petrochemicals, medicine, food industry, etc., held face-to-face business meetings and negotiated with each other.
A 70-member Iranian delegation arrived in Russian capital of Moscow on Monday to boost trade relations and hold economic talks with Russia.
The Iranian delegation consists of businesspersons of various fields, including cement, aquaculture, food industry, bags and shoes industry, clothing, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, academics, etc.
Jalali said in March that Tehran and Moscow had decided to increase their banking and financial cooperation to further expand ties and confront sanctions.
“As regards banking and financial cooperation, officials from the banking sphere of two countries are in constant contact with each other. A personal meeting of officials of the two countries is planned in the near future to solve possible problems,” Jalali said in an interview with TASS.
The parties are also attempting to agree upon the meeting of the joint commission on cooperation in the economy, where new decisions will be made, he added.
Russia and Iran plan visits of officials to discuss cooperation in various topics, Jalali noted.
