Aparat to Compete at Santa Cruz Film Festival
TEHRAN -- Iranian short film ‘Aparat’ is will compete at the Santa Cruz Film Festival in Argentina.
Written, produced, and directed by Hassan Najmabadi, the film will be screened at the 8th edition of the Latin American event.
The short film is about six teenage boys in a remote village who decide to work in the corrals in order to raise the money they need to rent an 8-mm movie projector from a tour guide, iFilm reported.
The cast list of the flick includes Mehdi Qolizadeh, Ebrahim Najmabadi, Emad Mohebbi, Abolfazl Najmabadi, Amir Najmabadi, Amir-Muhammad Najmabadi, Muhammad-Reza Najmabadi, Zari Najmabadi, and Mehdi Rezaee.
‘Aparat’ has previously participated in the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia, the International Children’s Film Festival – Cinekid ScreeningClub in the Netherlands, and the Gold Coast Film Festival in the U.S.
“Since 2002, SCFF has screened over 1200 independent films and videos including scores of quality, locally produced works to tens of thousands of enthusiastic and dedicated film lovers,” the media wrote about the festival.
The 8th edition of the festival is slated for April 15-17, 2022.
