Jewish MP Backs Iran’s Strike on Mossad Centers

TEHRAN -- The representative of the Jewish community at the Iranian parliament on Monday expressed the community’s support for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’ retaliatory missile strike on Mossad centers in Iraq, stressing Iran’s right to launch a barrage of missiles at the soil of any country that is used as a launch pad for hostile attacks.
Homayoun Sameh Yah told Fars news agency that retaliation was just a warning, “otherwise Iran’s defensive and military capabilities are greater than these”.
“Iran’s military and missile power today is equivalent to that of the major world powers,” he added.
Sameh Yah stressed that “the Iranian Jewish community supports the IRGC’s missile attack on the Zionists’ bases in Iraq’s Erbil”.
The lawmaker said neighboring countries must know that they “would face our missile attacks”, if they endangered our country’s security by allowing Iran’s enemies to erect spy and military bases on their territories.
Sameh Yah also said that the IRGC showed that “we have no reservation” in preserving “the security of our country”.
A dozen ballistic missiles hit secret Mossad bases in the Iraqi Kurdistan city of Erbil on Sunday, reportedly leaving several Israeli operatives dead.
In a statement issued Sunday, the IRGC indicated that the operation was in response to an Israeli airstrike on the Syrian capital of Damascus last Monday, in which two IRGC officers were killed.
An informed source, quoted by Tasnim news agency, on Monday offered more details about the recent retaliation, saying it appears to have taken a heavy toll on the Zionists.
The IRGC, the source said, had fired ten homegrown missiles with pinpoint accuracy at a strategic center of Zionists in Erbil in the early hours of Sunday.
Fateh-class missiles, including the Fateh-110 missiles, were used in the operation.
“The center hit by the missiles was a place where a remarkable number of Zionists gathered, and considering the number of people present in that base, the likelihood of the regime’s human toll is very high,” he added.
According to the informed source, the missiles were fired from a region in northwestern Iran and all of them hit their targets.
“The main target of the IRGC’s missiles in the attack was the Zionist base which is far away from the military base of the Americans,” the source added.
The source said the decision to punish the Zionists on the Iraqi soil came after they recently carried out a series of mischievous acts against Iran from their Iraqi base.
“If the Israeli regime’s mischief continues, it will receive a response at the same level, or even extremely harsher, from where they would not expect.”
