Tabriz to Host Final Round of Qur’an Competition
TEHRAN -- The final round of Iran’s 47th National Holy Qur’an Competition will get underway in the northwestern city of Tabriz next Monday, December 2.
According to the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, the round will begin with the women’s section, which will run for seven days.
The men’s section will then start on December 10, with the closing ceremony, where winners will be named and awarded, slated for December 19.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Qur’an Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Qur’an activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Qur’anic talents and promoting Qur’anic activities in society.
The top winners of the competition will represent Iran in the international Qur’an competitions across the world.
This year’s competition is held in commemoration of the “Martyrs of Service”, namely former President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in May.
