Lebanese Documentary to Premiere at Tehran Festival

TEHRAN -- The Lebanese documentary “A State of Love”, directed by Carol Mansour, is set to make its world premiere at the 18th edition of the Cinema Verité, Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival.
The documentary highlights the life and work of Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sitta, a humanitarian surgeon who played a critical role in treating the wounded, including those affected by the civilian massacres, during the Gaza crisis.
Produced in collaboration with the Documentary, Experimental & Animation Film Center (DEFC) of Iran, the film serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and compassion that emerge during times of war.
Proceeds from its screenings, managed by the Forward Film Production, will support the Children’s Care Fund, an initiative led by Dr. Abu-Sitta to aid children injured in the Gaza war.
Mansour, a veteran filmmaker with more than 25 years of experience, directed and edited the film.
Her work has been featured in more than 70 international festivals, earning global recognition.
The film was produced by Mona Khalidi, a human rights activist and academic with a focus on politics and planning, whose contributions in documentation and social development have been widely acknowledged.
“A State of Love” promises to deliver a message of hope and humanity while shedding light on the ongoing struggles in Gaza.
The upcoming edition of the Cinema Verité, managed by Muhammad Hamidi-Moghaddam, will run through December 8-15.
