Iran’s Vital Role in the  Trade-Cultural Progress of Africa

By: Kayhan International

The Islamic Republic of Iran pays great attention to Africa, and the welfare of the people of African states, especially those who were, and are, being exploited by the West, and is keen to lift their standards through cooperation in various fields, economy, industry, education, culture, science, technology, medicine, defence, agriculture, religion, etc.
Currently trade exchanges between the two sides stand at a paltry 1.3 billion dollars per year, and needs efforts to increase it to respectable levels to the mutual benefits of Iran and the African countries.
The African market has great potentials, and in view of Iran’s spectacular developments in all fields, has a bright future.
Iran’s public and private sectors endeavour to take trade ties to new heights, as well as promote cultural relations to lift the awareness of the people of Africa in order to save them from the tentacles of the US-European new colonialism as well as the nefarious plots of Zionism.
For instance in West Africa, Iran, in addition to its already flourishing ties with Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Sierra Leone, has reached out to Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
Tehran has also made its positive presence felt across the Sahel to the Horn of Africa, as well as in East Africa.
Many of the African states are wary of the evil designs of West, especially of the US and its Zionist surrogate, Israel.
Observers note that Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger – former French colonies in the central Sahel where nationalist parties have taken power – have increased cooperation with Iran, while distancing themselves from France.
The situation has already led to the expulsion of French troops from Niger and Mali, while the US occupation forces have withdrawn from Niger’s capital, Niamey, and will completely leave the country by September.
In East Africa, Iran has significantly increased cooperation in various sectors with Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. All three of which share healthy expanding relations with Tehran.
In southern Africa also, the situation is positive for Iran, especially following the memorable trips last year to the region by the Late President – Martyr Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi.
The new Iranian president is all set to follow in the footsteps of his immediate predecessor, and is looking forward to visiting several countries of the African continent.
Iran also maintains thriving relations with Arab Africa, where the people of Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, and Mauretania have special regard for the Islamic Republic, and its vital role in strengthening the Axis of Resistance.
The cherished goal of Iran and the Arab-African world is the liberation of Palestine from the occupation of the East European Zionists and their principal backer in crimes against humanity, the US.
