TEHRAN -- Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs Reza Najafi on Wednesday described Iran as the biggest victim of chemical weapons in the world’s contemporary history.

Najafi met with Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Fernando Arias on the sidelines of the Fifth Review Conference of the Chemical Weapons Convention in The Hague. He elaborated in the meeting on the impacts of the cruel U.S. sanctions on the health and treatment of war veterans in Iran who have been victims of chemical weapons.
