BAGHDAD – Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid will pay an official visit to Iran soon, the Arab country’s foreign minister has announced.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein hailed restoration of diplomatic relations between Tehran and Riyadh. The two senior diplomats underlined the need for Iran and Iraq to expand their strategic ties and to steadily coordinate and hold consultations with each other on various issues.
