Clippers Down Suns to Rise to Fourth in Western Conference
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Los Angeles Clippers downed the Phoenix Suns 116-107 to climb to fourth place in the NBA Western Conference.
The Clippers enjoyed a balanced offense in which Paul George and Terance Mann scored 26 points apiece, followed by Kawhi Leonard with 16 points and Ivica Zubac and Eric Gordon each with 13 points.
Josh Okogie scored a team-high 24 points for the Suns, but point guard Chris Paul was restricted to five points.
Superstar Kevin Durant, who left the Nets for the Suns recently, was formally presented to fans in Phoenix at a press conference earlier Thursday, but he was courtside to watch the Suns’ game against the Clippers.
After the loss, the Suns are fifth in the Western Conference with a 32-28 record.
Elsewhere on Thursday, the Milwaukee Bucks extended their winning streak to 12 with a 112-100 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Washington Wizards rallied to stun the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-106 on the road.
