Rostami Clinches Gold at 2022 Para Powerlifting World Cup
TEHRAN – Rouhollah Rostami of Iran has claimed a gold medal at the 12th Dubai 2022 Para Powerlifting World Cup.
The 2022 Paralympics champion seized the gold by lifting 218 kg in the Men’s Up to 80 kg weight category.
The powerlifters from Iraq and Georgia won silver and bronze, respectively.
Around 200 powerlifters from 40 nations are competing in the final World Para Powerlifting World Cup of the season in Dubai, the UAE.

The 2022 World Weightlifting Championships is underway at Gran Carpa Américas Corferias in Bogota, Colombia, from December 5 to 16, when 537 athletes participating in this year’s competitions.
The men’s 109 kilograms competition at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships was held on 15 December 2022.
Karami had very hard rivalry with athletes from Uzbekistan, Georgia and Tunisia; then, he stood fourth at the end of the competitions.
In snatch category, Karami lifted 176 kg in the snatch and 210 kg in the clean and jerk, standing fourth and seventh respectively in these two categories.
The Iranian athlete finished fourth in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships Competition with a total record of 386 kg weightlifting.
The Iranian national team’s weightlifters have bagged one gold and three silver medals in the competitions so far.
Reza Dehdar in 102 kg, Kyanoush Rostami in 89 kg, Mehdi Karami in 109 kg, Zeynab Sheikh-Arbab in 87 kg, Elham Hosseini in 81 kg, Hafez Ghashghaei in 67 kg, Parisa Nourali in 76 kg, Elaheh Razzaghi in 71 kg and Mirmostafa Javadi in 81 kg represent Iran in the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships in Colombia.
