‘The Hands’ on Way to UK’s Event
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short film ‘The Hands’ is to go on screen at the 7th edition of the monthly First-Time Filmmaker Online Sessions in the UK.
Parviz Rajaee’s short flick, on determinism and free will, will mark its 54th international screening at the 2022 edition of the UK screening event which is due for October 22.
“Some are in stillness to be formed by a hand, and others try to form”, a synopsis for the film reads.
So far, ‘The Hands’ has participated in several film festivals across the globe, including the 4th Sylhet Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 1st Southport Int’l Short Film Festival in the UK, the 2020 Southeast Regional Film Festival in the U.S., the 2020 South Coast Film Festival of the UK, the 2nd Kalakari Film Festival in India, the 6th One Earth Awards in India and the 2020 Kosice Int’l Monthly Film Festival of Slovakia.
‘The Hands’ is also the recipient of the best short film award from the World Premiere Film Awards (WPFA) in the U.S. and Certificate of Achievement for Best Iranian Film from the 2nd Eastern Venice Cine Fest in India.
The award for best foreign documentary at the 5th Love International Film Festival (LIFF) in the U.S. and the best short film award from the 2021 Perak Cave Int’l Cine Carnival in Malaysia are other accolades recently bagged by ‘The Hands’.
‘The Hands’ is the winner of the best short film awards of the 2nd Khamrubu Int’l Film Festival in India as well as the 2021 Brandenburg Choral Festival in the UK.
The First-Time Filmmaker Online Sessions has been designed to be the entry into the Lift-Off Global Network. It is “a monthly online showcase, dedicated to screening a collection of globally submitted indie shorts and features (of all genres) from new voices,” writes the online submission platform of the event.
