MPs Debate Riots, Thank Police
TEHRAN – Iran’s parliament on Sunday met behind closed doors to discuss the recent turmoil in a number of cities. They chanted “thank you, police” during the session on Sunday. Pledging allegiance to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, they chanted: “The blood in our veins is a gift to our leader.” The session was attended by Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi and police chief Brigadier General Hussein Ashtari who briefed lawmakers on the recent riots and terrorist attacks in Zahedan.
