First ‘Museum of Protocol and International Relations’ Opens at Yazd City Hall

During the visits of ambassadors and officials from different countries to Yazd, a number of gifts have been presented to city officials, and the same has happened during the official visits of local officials to other cities of the world, and before this, the gifts were kept scattered in different offices.
With the establishment of this Protocol Museum, all these special gifts are kept in a centralized place inside the city hall and exposed to the public.
Yazd is currently twinned with seven cities from different countries, including the cities of Linz in Austria, Poti in Georgia, Khiva in Uzbekistan, Jaszbereny in Hungary, Pingyao in China, Braga in Portugal and Gyumri in Armenia.
This museum has been set up in an area of 160 square meters and 40 ceremonial and international gifts from ambassadors, mayors and officials of 12 countries of the world as well as various gifts received by previous and current governors and mayors of Yazd from different sources are being displayed.
In this museum a special, beautiful and unique atmosphere has been created. The narrative of the old city of Yazd and its new cityscape is depicted. In another part of the museum, using wooden structures, a symbol of Yazd desert has been created.
The artifacts and gifts are from Armenia, Uzbekistan, Cuba, China, Japan, India, Mexico, Thailand, South Africa, Portugal and Hungary and South Korea.
