‘Sun Children’ Named Best at Australia’s Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The 10th edition of Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA) has awarded Iran’s feature ‘Sun Children’.
‘Sun Children’ won the Best Film award at the IFFA. The film also brought Mohammad-Javad Ezzati and Majid Majidi the Best Actor and Best Director awards, respectively.
The awarding ceremony was held in the Australian embassy in Tehran on Tuesday.
‘Sun Children’ is about a 12-year-old boy and his three friends, who have been asked by a neighborhood crime boss to find a treasure buried underground.
Besides Ezzati, ‘Sun Children’ is starring Ali Nasiriyan and Tannaz Tabatabaee.
The IFFA is “the only nation-wide Australian Festival dedicated to Iranian Cinema”, website of the event reads.
It aims to “showcase a diverse range of the best and most interesting of current Iranian cinema, one of the world’s most exhilarating national cinemas, and through cinema to introduce Iranian culture to other Australians, providing a better cultural understanding”.
