‘The Zoo’ Off to South African Event

Iranian short ‘The Zoo’ has been selected to compete at the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) in South Africa.
Written and directed by Nafiseh Zare and produced by Kaveh Mazaheri and Sourena Ekbatani, the short flick will go on screen at the 43rd edition of the DIFF.
A short synopsis on the flick reads “Among the animals in the zoo, Rana is looking for a deer she has been dreaming of, and her mother is looking for the right opportunity to tell her important news.”
The cast list of the flick includes Sonia Sanjari, Tarannom Ahangar, and Daryoush Reshadat.
Earlier reports said Iranian film ‘The Savior’ by Soheila Pour-Mohammadi and ‘A Narration of a Funeral’ by Amir Sedqi will also take part in this edition of the DIFF.
The Durban International Film Festival “fulfills a facilitative function as a promoter of the film industry, creating networking and cultural exchange platforms”, according to the event’s website.
The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on July 21-30, 2022.
