MP: Iran’s Non-Oil Exports to Neighbors Top $25bn
TEHRAN– The chairman of Parliament’s Industry and Mining Commission Mostafa Taheri has praised prioritizing the neighbor’s policy by President Ebrahim Raisi’s administration which led to increasing non-oil exports to the neighboring countries to 25 billion dollars last Iranian calendar year (March 2021-March 2022).
Taheri said that the President Raisi administration has done important jobs economically in almost a year into office.
During this short period, several presidents have paid visits to Tehran, signing MoUs with President Raisi on various economic, trade, transportation, railroad and cultural issues, according to Taheri.
Iran had over 48.5 billion dollars of non-oil exports last Iranian calendar year (March 2021-March 2022), 25 billion dollars of which was peculiar to neighboring countries, the lawmaker said.
He also noted that Iran could increase exports to Turkey by 100 percent and exports to Russia grow by 30 to 40 percent since Raisi took office.
Neighboring countries have made investments to transit their energy and goods through Iran and they’re not willing to lose this opportunity, Taheri said, adding that his would benefit Iran’s economy and national security.
