Iran Overpower Uzbekistan at Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship
TEHRAN – Iran beat Uzbekistan 3-0 at the 14th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.
Earlier, Iran had defeated Australia in the opening match.
Also, the Iranian team lost to Thailand 3-1 and was beaten by South Korea 3-0.
The event kicked off on June 6 and will wrap up on June 13.
The top four teams will qualify for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship as the AVC representatives.
And also in Men 2022 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Pool 1 in Brasilia, the Netherlands’ Abdel-Aziz Nimir played a key role in helping his team defeat Iran 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-21), Brazil Friday night.
Nimir scored 20 points while Amin Esmaeilnejhad earned 15 points for Iran.
Iran is scheduled to meet Australia on Sunday.
The Volleyball Nations League was launched as a new competition in 2018 and ever since has been the annual meeting point for the top teams in the world.
The competition began with a Preliminary Round played over six competition weeks, with women and men taking their turns every other week in racing for the spots in the Finals.
