A Hero to Compete at Serbian Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ is competing at the International Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia.
Award-winning director Asghar Farhadi’s latest film represents Iran at the Contemporary Trends Section of the event currently underway in Serbia.
‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.
The movie is starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh, and Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee.
‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France.
It also grabbed three awards at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the U.S.
Established in 2008, the Küstendorf Film Festival is an annual event held early January in the village of Drvengrad (also known as Küstendorf) in the Mokra Gora region of Serbia.
In addition to feature films shown in several programs and musical performances, the festival features a competitive section for short films. The festival’s main prize, Golden Egg (Zlatno jaje), is awarded to the best short film.
The 15th edition of the festival kicked off on May 6 and will wrap up today, May 10, 2022.
