Biden, Putin Hold Virtual Talks
WASHINGTON/MOSCOW (Dispatches) -- United States President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin began virtual talks on Ukraine and other subjects on Tuesday, Russian state television reported.
Biden will tell Putin that Russia and its banks could be hit with the toughest economic sanctions yet if it invades Ukraine, U.S. officials said before the video conference. One source said the sanctions could target Russia’s biggest banks and Moscow’s ability to convert roubles into dollars and other currencies.
