Juve Beat Roma With Kean’s Deflected Winner
ROME (Dispatches) - Juventus continued its winning streak in Serie A, edging past Roma 1-0 thanks to Moise Kean’s deflected winner on Sunday.
Juve entered the Allianz Stadium on the back of three straight wins and started Kean up front with Federico Bernardeschi roaming behind him.
The Bianconeri scored the game’s only goal in the 12th minute with a stroke of luck as Mattia De Sciglio’s floated cross found Rodrigo Bentancur, whose header took a deflection off Kean and went into the net.
The away side should have had an equalizer, but Jordan Veretout saw his penalty saved by Wojciech Szczesny.
With the win, Juve now ranks seventh with 14 points, 10 points behind top side Napoli, who registered its eighth consecutive win with a 1-0 victory over Torino.
Also on Sunday, Atalanta beat Empoli 4-1 away, Cagliari dominated Sampdoria 3-1, Udinese and Bologna played out a 1-1 draw, and Genoa shared the spoils with Sassuolo at 2-2.
