Brazil, Bolivia Stress Willingness to Expand Iran Ties
TEHRAN -- The foreign
ministers of Brazil and Bolivia have congratulated their Iranian counterpart on taking office, calling for the expansion of relations with Iran in various fields.
In a congratulatory message to Hussein Amir-Abdollahian, Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos Alberto Franco Franca hoped that age-old relations with Iran would expand under the new Iranian administration.
He said Brazil and Iran are able to give a fresh impetus to their mutual cooperation and trade ties, citing agricultural sector a suitable ground.
Foreign Minister of Bolivia Rogelio Mayta Mayta also wished Amir-Abdollahian the best in his new post.
He said the Bolivian government is willing to broaden cooperation and friendship with Iran with the aim of ensuring the two nations’ economic and social development and paving the way for scientific and technological achievements.
In a telephone conversation with his Nicaraguan counterpart last month, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that his government’s foreign policy favors expansion of ties with the Latin American and Caribbean countries.
Earlier last month, Raisi held a meeting with the secretary-general of ALBA -an intergovernmental alliance of the Latin American and Caribbean states- in Tehran, and reviewed plans to promote cooperation and protect independent nations against the U.S. and other arrogant powers.
