International Humanitarian Award Goes to ‘Wet’ in Rhode Island
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The 39th edition of the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) in the U.S. has awarded Iranian short film ‘Wet’.
The winners of the festival were announced on Wednesday with the annual awards ceremony held virtually.
‘Wet’ won the Flickers’ International Humanitarian Award, the grand prize of the festival which is given annually to films or filmmakers who inspire social change and community outreach, and strive to improve the world in which we live.
Directed by Saeed Jafarian, the Iranian movie is about a young girl who decides to go to a forbidden party.
‘The Heartland’ by Marquise Mays from the US won the first prize in the same category and the second prize went to ‘The Bengali’, directed by Kavery Kaul, from the US and India.
Flickers’ Rhode Island fest is one of the best international film festivals and top 10 short film festivals in the United States.
The fesivalt celebrates the independent spirit in film and has become a haven for independent filmmakers from throughout the world.
Rhode Island International Film Festival is one of the Best International Film Festivals and the top 10 Short Film Festivals in the United States.
RIIFF is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences qualifying event.
