Acclaimed Films Shine at Italian Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The 10th edition of the Tracce Cinematografiche (Film Tracks) Film Fest in Italy has honored three Iranian short flicks.
Directed by Ziba Arzhang, ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ won the award for Best Animation Film at the Animation section and two Special Jury Mentions at the Social section went to ‘Child of This Land’ by Nick Yousefi and ‘Cellmate’ by Behzad Khodaveisi.
The festival had also nominated Iran’s ‘Bowl, Paper & Fish’ by Amir-Shahab Mehdizadeh and ‘The Rotation’ by Hazhir Asadi at the Animation section, ‘Her’ by Ali Baqeri at the Free section, as well as ‘IS’ by Mona Remzani, ‘Subservient’ by Yasser Barzegar, and ‘Temavar’ by Edris Nasseri at the Social section.
‘Bernardino da Luino’ by Diego Monfredini from Italy won the award for Best Free Film, ‘Ora Zero’ by Fabiana Pemisco from Italy received the award for Best Social Film, and the award for Best Video Clip went to ‘We Didn’t Want a War’ by Ian Yanovich from Russia.
The 6-minute ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ is about a city painted on a tile that undergoes intense explosion and bombardment.
Due to the incident, the sun breaks into many pieces and the city gets dark. But the people build a new sun together.
In the production of the flick, Arzhang has taken benefit of Iranian art manifested in the form of beautiful tile works.
Currently competing at the River International Film Festival in Italy, ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ participated in some global events, including the London Kurdish Film Festival in the UK, the Sonoma International Film Festival, the Washington DC International Film Festival, the Fine Arts Film Festival, and the Florida International Animation Festival, all in the U.S.
The Tracce Cinematografiche Film Fest wants to be a meeting point between fans of filmic language, propose quality works.
The 10th edition of the Italian event will hold its screening programs on July 13-18, 2021.
