TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Award-winning Iranian documentary short ‘Bavani’ is themed on traditional wedding customs of local people in Iranian province of Ilam handed down from generation to generation.
The doc by Sajjad Ahmadbeigi has gained the Best Documentary Short awards at several international fests, including Mesopotamia Film Festival in Turkey and the 2021 Blackboard International Film Festival in India.
The 30-minute documentary ‘Bavani’ (Dowry) depicts marriage rituals and local customs in Ilam province. The documentary tells the story of the bride’s family acting in the simplest possible way in preparing and providing their daughter’s dowry.
