Saying Biden ‘Aids, Abets, Justifies’ Zionist Carnage
American Muslim Groups Boycott White House Eid Celebration
WASHINGTON (Dispatches) – American Muslim groups have boycotted a White House virtual Eid celebration scheduled in response to Joe Biden’s support for the Zionist regime’s attack on Palestinians.
The White House has scheduled the virtual Eid to commemorate the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
But Biden has received significant backlash from Muslim groups, pro-Palestinian activists, and progressive Democrats for his response to the current conflict unfolding by the Zionist regime, Newsweek reported.
On Wednesday, Biden said that the occupying regime has "a right to defend itself,” while condemning Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) denounced the Biden administration’s support of the Zionist regime’s bombing of "innocent men, women and children in Gaza”.
CAIR, a prominent American Muslim organization, said it was joining with other groups in the boycott over the White House’s "incredibly disappointing and deeply disturbing” response to the violence.
"We cannot in good conscience celebrate Eid with the Biden Administration while it literally aids, abets and justifies the Israeli apartheid government’s indiscriminate bombing of innocent men, women and children in Gaza. President (Joe) Biden has the political power and moral authority to stop these injustices. We urge him to stand on the side of the victims and not the victimizer,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad.
Awad warned the White House’s current approach toward the Zionist regime’s atrocities in Palestine would damage the relationship between the Biden’s administration and Muslim Americans.
Meanwhile, U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib says the Zionist regime is bombing international media so the world can’t see its war crimes against the people of Palestine.
"Israel targeting media sources is so the world can’t see Israel’s war crimes led by the apartheid-in-chief Netanyahu. It’s so the world can’t see the killing of babies, children and their parents. It’s so the world can’t see Palestinians being massacred,” she tweeted on Saturday.
Tlaib is one of the first two Muslim women elected to the U.S. Congress. The other woman is Ilhan Omar, Minnesota’s Representative, a Muslim of Somali descent.
Criticizing U.S. President Joe Biden’s position at the UN, Omar said on Twitter it is "disgusting and immoral for the U.S. to endorse this violent bloodshed.”
"I don’t know any other time when the U.S. has actively blocked a ceasefire and allowed for civilians to get slaughtered,” Omar said.
At least 181 Palestinians, including 47 children and 29 women, have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past week. Nearly 1,000 others have also been injured.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki on Friday avoided a reporter’s inquiry on whether Biden believes Palestinians also have a right to self-defense in face of the regime’s indiscriminate bombings of their neighborhoods in Gaza.
Also on Friday, the Palestinian Authority criticized Washington’s position on the Gaza situation and called on the Biden administration to intervene.
The White House has come under harsh criticism from progressive advocacy groups and liberals in Congress over what they assert is a Middle East policy too far in favor of the Zionist regime over Palestine.
