Iranian Documentary Takes Part at Japanese Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian documentary ‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ has been selected to participate in the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan.
Directed by Yasser Talebi during five years, the film will be screened at the iTSCOM section at the 23rd edition of the Japanese event.
‘I Won’t Remain Alone’ follows the story of Sorayya and Seyyed-Jalal, an underprivileged old couple who live in a distant village in north of Iran.
The film "paints pictures of forgiveness, love, humanity and immortality”, according to the official website of the fest.
Talebi has already toured many global events with his award-winning doc ‘Beloved’.
Launched in 1999, the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia has been accredited by the Academy Awards and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, according to the website of the event.
The annual gala, slated for June 11-23, will also play host to ‘White Clad’ by Reza Fahimi, Fatemeh Mohammadi’s ‘Branded’, and ‘Witness’ directed by Ali Asgari, all from Iran.
