IRGC’s Statement on Deal With Zionist Regime:
Deal to Spell ‘Dangerous Future’ for UAE Rulers
TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed Saturday there would be dangerous consequences for the United Arab Emirates after it announced a deal with the occupying regime of Israel to open up diplomatic relations.
The UAE is the first Persian Gulf Arab state to do so and only the third Arab nation to establish normalized relations with the Zionist regime.
The IRGC called the deal a "shameful” agreement and an "evil action” that was underwritten by the U.S., according to a statement on IRGC website Sepah News.
The force warned that the deal with the occupying regime of Israel will set back American influence in the Middle East, and bring a "dangerous future” for the Emirati government.
"The United States and the regional and trans-regional supporters of the infamous Abu Dhabi-Tel Aviv agreement know that this heinous act will not serve the interests of the Zionist regime and, contrary to their expectations, it will shatter their dream of a new Middle East and spell a dangerous future for those residing in glass palaces in the UAE,” it said.
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the United Arab Emirates and Israel agreed to establish full diplomatic ties as part of a deal to "temporarily” halt the annexation of occupied land sought by the Palestinians.
The UAE presented its controversial decision as a way of encouraging "peace” and taking the Zionist regime’s planned annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank off the table. But Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu swiftly pushed back insisting the pause in annexation was "temporary.”
Trump has presented the U.S.-brokered agreement as a major diplomatic achievement and said he expects more Arab and Muslim countries to follow suit. The occupying regime of Israel has quietly cultivated ties with the UAE and other Persian Gulf countries for several years.
The Persian daily Kayhan said the United Arab Emirates’ decision to normalize ties with the Zionist regime has made it a "legitimate target” for the resistance forces.
"The UAE’s great betrayal of the Palestinian people and its signing of an agreement to normalize relations with the Zionist regime, if it has only one result, it will be to turn this small, rich country heavily dependent on security into a legitimate and easy target for the resistance,” Kayhan said in a front-page commentary.
The move was an act of "strategic stupidity from Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv which will undoubtedly strengthen the resistance axis in the region,” Iran’s foreign ministry said on Friday.
The UAE downgraded ties with Iran in 2016 after Saudi Arabia severed relations with the Islamic republic.
The IRGC said the UAE’s new move is a strategic mistake, historic idiocy and a poisonous dagger in the body of the Muslim community.
"The disgraceful agreement to normalize relations between the UAE and the fake Zionist regime, which was made public by the design and leadership of the terrorist
and inhuman government of the United States, is one of the greatest historical betrayals against the Palestinian cause that inflicted a poisonous dagger on the body of the Islamic Ummah, especially on the resistance and legitimacy of the oppressed Muslim nation of Palestine,” the statement said.
"This treacherous act has multiple goals, including legitimizing the fake Zionist regime, weakening the Palestinian resistance front, consigning the issue of Jerusalem Al-Quds and Palestine to oblivion, paving the way for the implementation of the so-called deal of century and the new Middle East project and creating conditions for the Arab world to engage with the occupying regime,” the IRGC’s statement added.
"It is an evil move and doomed to failure.”
The IRGC said, "The United States as well as regional and trans-regional supporters of the infamous Abu Dhabi-Tel Aviv agreement know that this heinous act will not serve the interests of the Zionist regime, and contrary to their expectations, it will spell a dangerous future for them.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas referred to the deal as an "aggression” against the Palestinian people and a "betrayal” of their cause. The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas described it as "a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause.” And Palestinian people staged protests against the deal in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip on Friday.
