‘The Doll’ En Route to Canada’s Hot Docs

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘The Doll’ is slated to vie at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
Directed and written by Nasrin Gol-Reyhan, will represent Iran at the Short Documentary section of the 2021 edition of the event.
The short film tells the story of a rescue in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.
In the flick, produced by Hossein Shahabi, a female reporter finds a little girl in the war-torn city and tries to save her life.
Rezvan Beheshtian, Sahar Abdollahi, Mohammad-Javad Asadi, and Nabiollah Minaee are the main cast members of the flick.
The Hot Docs is recognized as a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards in the Documentary Feature and Documentary Short Subject categories.
This year’s edition of the event, set to be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, will take place on April 29-May 09, 2021.
