Iran’s Documentary Competes at Sheffield Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian documentary ‘Galena’ directed by Ezzatollah Parvazeh is set to take part at the 2020 edition of Sheffield International Documentary Festival in the UK.
Media reports said Parvazeh’s documentary has been selected to take part at the England-based festival’s section "Into the World”.
‘Galena’ is about a lonely old woman who lives in a few thousand-year-old uninhabited village in the heart of a desert, home to miners. "She spends her time living with the miners and has nightly conversations with her woolen doll,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Since its establishment in 1994, Sheffield Doc/Fest has become the UK’s biggest documentary festival and the third largest in the world.
The 2020 edition of Sheffield International Documentary Festival will take place online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The festival is among Academy Award qualifying festivals for documentary features.
