Iran Finish Runners-Up in AKF Championships
TASHKENT, Uzbekistan (Dispatches) -The Iranian National Team have finished runners-up in the 2019 Asian Karate Federation senior championship, after collecting a total of 11 medals.
Iranian male and female karatekas took home 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals in the Kumeeteh and Kata categories in the 16th edition of the games in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Japan claimed the title of the games, having won a gold and a silver medal more than Iran, while the hosts finished 3rd.
The competition had brought together nearly 400 competitors from 33 countries from the 15th of July.
