Real Madrid Plan to Replace Iker Casillas with Asmir Begovic

TEHRAN (FNA) - The Spanish giants are on the lookout for a new shot stopper with club legend Casillas' talents seemingly on the wane.
Asmir Begovic is being lined up by Real Madrid as a replacement for Iker Casillas next summer, the Mirror reported.
Casillas has just lost his international place with Spain to place to Manchester United’s David De Gea and his future at the Bernabeu is no longer rock solid.
Stoke City goalkeeper Begovic was on the radar of Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona, but that interest appears to have waned and the Bosnian international’s options in the Premier League are limited.
Stoke owner Peter Coates has made it clear that he hopes to be able to open negotiations on an extension to the 27-year-old’s current deal.
Begovic has two years still to run on his contract and intimated in the summer that he would be looking to remain at the Britannia Stadium.
