Tehran Tours Arranged for Italian Delegation

TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Italian Football Federation President Carlo Tavecchio and his delegation are expected to visit Iran on Oct. 25.

In addition to official and technical meetings, Tavecchio will also visit a few museums of Tehran during his three-day stay.
The Iranian entity, Azadi International Tourism Organization (AITO), has arranged his trip.
Afshin Azizi, the AITO manager, said Jewelry Museum, Carpet Museum of Iran and the National Museum of Iran have been considered for the visit of Italian delegates.
"Since Tavecchio has expressed interest in Iranian carpets, a visit to the Carpet Museum of Iran has been scheduled," he said.
AITO, which operates under the supervision of the Foundation for the Oppressed and Disabled, handles the formalities (ceremonies) and international activities of Iranian Football Federation (IFF).
It had arranged the visit of IFF President Ali Kaffashian to Italy four years ago.
"We brought many sports teams to Iran with their fans, but we couldn't coordinate with places other than Tehran, as Iran does not have sufficient camping and travel facilities for sports teams. Even Iranian teams go abroad for camping," he said.
Azizi said AITO arranges tours for officials visiting Iran.
