Terrorism – The American Way of Life

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

What, if Dimitrios Pagourtzis, who last Friday cold-bloodedly killed at least ten persons at Santa Fe High School in the US state of Texas, had been a Muslim?
In that case, the 17-year old killer of Christian origin, who will not be facing death penalty but will be paroled, would have been called a ‘terrorist’ deserving capital punishment, accompanied by insults and all sorts of accusations against Islam, with the whole US setup, including the President, crying hoarse that Muslims should be expelled for posing threats to the American way of life.
This explains the silence of the rabidly anti-Muslim Donald Trump to the frequent bouts of terrorism at schools, and his support for ‘gun-culture’ which three months earlier had seen 17 teens losing their lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida to a psychopath, similar to Pagourtzis.
In other words, what happened at the Texas school recently, and what occurs almost daily all over the US with bullets flying all of a sudden at unsuspecting school children, at passersby on the streets, at shoppers in the malls, and at Afro-Americans by trigger-happy white policemen, is all part and parcel of the American way of life.
It is a way of life in which Americans are reared from childhood so that from teenage onwards they become devoid of all humanitarian values and by the time they are elected to the state forums, the senate, the house of representatives, and the presidency, they have developed into hardened criminals, totally insensitive to human suffering and capable of committing any devilish act on the international scale.
Examples galore, such as the atomic bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; the savage bombardment of Korea (1950-53); the war in Vietnam that dragged on for over a decade with use of dangerous chemicals against civilians; the 8-year long destructive war imposed on Iran through Saddam; the unabated mayhem in Afghanistan; the killing of over 1.2 million Iraqis; the continued support for the illegal Zionist entity since 1948 to terrorize and kill tens of thousands of Palestinians to date; the supply of lethal arms to Saudi Arabia to kill 20,000 people in Yemen over the past three years besides destruction of the infrastructure; and the failed attempt to destabilize Syria through Takfiri and other terrorists who have killed over a hundred thousand people and displaced half-a-million others.
The list is long, and the US acts of state terrorism include the coups that overthrew the elected governments in Iran (in 1953) and in Chile (in 1973), in addition to the illegal and unjust ever-increasing sanctions of the past four decades against the Islamic Republic, and the frequent firing of missiles at Syria.
The point is that the Texas school shooting may have shocked the civilized world, but for the average American, especially the US administration, it is a way of life that is necessary for hardening of hearts of budding statesmen, who later in life have to kill by the millions all over the world.
No wonder, the steadily rising figures of casualties of the ‘gun-culture’ in the US that last year saw 22,050 incidents in which 15,460 people died and 19,939 others were injured, is something normal and should be further increased in the present year, otherwise there will no zest in the American way of life.
Consequently, the US society will become passive and peaceful, with no prospects for the likes of Truman, Nixon, Reagan, the Bushes, and Trump, to rise to power, which means no dropping of atomic bombs, no war in Vietnam, no support for Saddam’s 8-year against Iran and downing of the Iranian passenger plane, no invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, no destabilization of Syria, no breaching of international accords, no nuclear threats against North Korea, and no backing for the illegal Zionist entity plus the criminal move to set up the American embassy in the occupied Islamic city of Bayt al-Moqaddas.
This does not mean Dimitrios Pagourtzis will become a senator or a president in the future. No, he and all those who openly indulge in homicide have no political future.
In the US, criminality is an art that is coolly developed through killing of self-conscience with tacit support for human sufferings, but not personal involvement at the school, community, and city level, so that the inherent streaks of sadism could be saved for the day when the devils-in-human-form are propelled to power at the CIA, at the Pentagon, the State Department, at the Homeland Security, and at the Pentagon, and at the White House in order to terrorize the world.
