Palestinian Plight
AFTAB: Palestinians can have no hope of justice from any U.S.-brokered agreement; the Israeli lobby in the U.S. is too strong. But the growing hatred of Israel by academics, entertainers and others, and the boycotting of Israeli products by ever-increasing numbers of people the world over, will bring positive results for Palestinians, as these actions did a generation ago for South Africans.

American Arrogance
SHARQ: One view of U.S. policing is that it shares, with occupying U.S. forces abroad, the joint project of protecting the ruling class interests of a white supremacist global order.  Bringing the opposition onto the streets reveals policing and militarism’s shared interests; but people, especially people of color, have had cop problems long before the ongoing protests in Fergusson.

War on Syria
ABRAR: Coming together of old rivals and enemies in opposition to Isis is happening in Iraq, but not yet in Syria where the U.S., Europeans, Turks, Saudis and Qataris continue with their old bankrupt policy. This is to get rid of or least weaken President Bashar al-Assad by backing ISIL and other terrorist groups. Unfortunately, ISIL dominates the Syrian opposition and that domination grows greater by the day.
