Kuwait to Develop Ports to Broaden Trade Ties with Iran




TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Kuwaiti Minister of Al-Diwan Al-Amiri Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Sabah has announced that his government is to facilitate five important ports in the country in a bid to pave the way for boosting trade and economic exchanges with Iran.
"The Kuwaiti government is to invest over $100 billion in those areas and it has initiated talks with several Chinese companies," Sheikh Nasser said.
He reiterated that Kuwait is to turn some very important islands to economic hubs to increase the volume of its trade balance with Iran and Iraq.
"The expansion of relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq will help maintain regional stability," Sheikh Nasser said.
He underlined that Kuwait would welcome expansion of relations with Iran and Iraq to bolster regional cooperation.
