TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iran is among top 10 countries working in the field of science of stem cells.
"Actually the science of stem cells is like a river and many countries are working in this field,” Dr. Naser Aghdami, head of Royan Cell Therapy Center said.
In an interview on the sideline of the second international congress of stem cells in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, he stated: "It is too early to speak about the future of this science because this technology is in its infancy and we have just started it". 
"Currently, diseases like genetic disorders, cancers, and especially cartilage are treated by this technology," he added.
 "As we have limitation in the government budget, NGOs can play an important role to help push this science," Aghdami said about the role of people in improving this science.
